The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time at the Gielgud Theatre
The National Theatre's award-winning production is based on Mark Haddon’s award-winning novel, adapted by Simon Stephens and directed by Marianne Elliott. The production has won 7 Olivier Awards including Best Play in 2013.
The Hero’s Journey is a narrative pattern identified by Joseph Campbell, found in many stories including fairy tales, folk tales, religeous stories and fantasy. It maps the adventure of the archetype known as The Hero, who must undertake a challenging journey on behalf of others. This journey pattern will Inspire our Collaborative group project.
Following initial discussions and image based research on the theme 'structure and invisible lines', we began as a group to experiment practically with materials, shapes, shadows and projection.
As part of the Unit 1 collaborative project, I decided to join the invisible and structure lines group as part the larger Dots & Lines event. I was interested in the ideas of links, layers, things you see and don't see, unseen forces, fate and connections.
Practical experiment for Deep Heat design concept, using puppet prototype and experimenting with shadow, projection, characterisation and sound.
