Invisible and Structure Lines

11/12/2014

Collaborative Project: Invisible & Structure Lines:

As part of the Unit 1 collaborative project, I decided to join the invisible and structure lines group as part the larger Dots & Lines event.  I was interested in the ideas of links, layers, things you see and don't see, unseen forces, fate and connections.

The Team:

Group Meetings

Below are a full list of notes and words collected during the first few small group meetings. We discussed our theme, first impressions, ideas and skills.

I liked that this group had a very broad scope and could be interpreted in different ways and that it already had within the name opportunity for contradictions and contrasts.

We agreed on some key themes: An Audience journey, shadows, multiple installations, connections

We explored ideas which would utilise our group skills and interests. We were keen from the beginning to combine made artifacts with digital projection and a live technician/performer.

A group Pinterest page was established to share images as inspiration and clarification of style.  This would be used throughout the project to document designs, photographs and reference images.  Many early inspirations included shadow play including work by Christian Boltanski, Adam Martinakis, Josef Svoboda, Tim Noble and Sue Webster.
